We needed FOUR CRANES for this lift!!!
This was a complex lift planned and managed by Sparrow Crane Hire for our super yacht manufacturing customer who needed our help to rotate a newly built 'hull tool mould' in Lee-on-the-Solent.
The images show three Liebherr LTM1060 3.1 Mobile Cranes (60t AT) and one Terex AC100-4L (100t AT) Mobile Crane, performing a rotational lift, classified as a complex lift as well as a “four crane lift”!
Once successfully rotated and lowered, the hull tool was loaded onto transport and moved to Lee-on-the-Solent Jetty, where a 750t Liebherr crane lifted it onto a barge for shipping from the Solent to Plymouth. On arrival in Plymouth, our Liebherr LTM1200 5.1 crane offloaded the hull tool mould safely utilising a H-frame lifting beam to help lift securely.
The U3 hull tool is now in Plymouth, ready to begin work on a new super yacht construction project.
