Sparrow contributed to a huge engineering exercise on the A38 trunk road at Marsh Mills, Plymouth, Devon, with flyovers, underpasses and road constructed over difficult and, in places, soggy terrain. The viaducts had to be replaced because their concrete had been rotted by alkali-silica reaction or 'Concrete Cancer' which was a big topic in the 1980's. Read more in the Plymouth Herald
