Assistant Accountant
The Person
The ideal candidate will be multi skilled in accounts and administrative processes, and be happy to work as an integral part of a small team under the guidance of the Accountant. Candidates will be expected to do data entry, cover team members’ holidays and assist with month end processes. A hands on approach is required with very good attention to detail and accuracy as the candidate will be processing company payroll.

The Role
The role is based at our office in Keynsham, working alongside the Accounts Assistant and reporting to the Accountant. The successful candidate will hold a key role within our organization, completing the following tasks:-
- Process company weekly payroll (75 staff) & maintain employee payroll records.
- Process customer invoices, issue statements and chase late payments.
- Upload payments to the bank for approval.
- Process bank receipts & petty cash transactions.
- Assist with Year End Audit.
- Issue monthly sales / Pro-forma invoices.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliation.
- Ad-hoc finance / admin tasks.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a finance team with working knowledge of the purchase, cash, receivables ledgers and payroll. They should have Intermediate excel knowledge, be flexible, be able to prioritise workload and work individually or as part of a team. Candidates can either have qualifications relating to payroll or bookkeeping or be qualified by experience.
Salary & Hours
Salary is in the region of £28,000 - £30,000 dependent on skills and experience. The hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 until 17:00 hours. There are 23 days holiday per annum.
